Includes entries relating to time spent with friends and family; social engagements; Dr Samuel Johnson's house; meetings with parliamentary colleagues; the Garden Cities Association, including meetings with Ebenezer Howard and visits to Letchworth; purchasing properties in Gough Square and New Square; census day (02 April); his adoption as a Liberal candidate for Luton (21 June); the coronation of George V and Mary (22 June); canvassing in Luton; election as Liberal MP for Luton (21 July); proceedings in the House of Commons, including debating and voting on the Veto Bill, the Insurance Bill and the Finance Bill (18-09 Aug); travel to Ireland and Wales, including a number of political engagements (15 Sep-04 Oct); his appointment as Parliamentary Secretary to Walter Runciman MP, President Board of Agriculture and Fisheries (15 November); and Christmas.
