DescriptionComprising assorted poems written by Daphne du Maurier between 1926 and 1981, which appear to be unpublished. They include the following:

- typescript poem entitled 'Armistice Day. 1946.';
- three typescript poem beginning 'It becomes increasingly lonely without the dead...', one with manuscript annotations;
- typescript poem beginning 'So were the naked clothed, and the hungry fed...', crossed through several times;
- four typescript poem entitled 'Easter Morning', two with typescript annotations;
- typescript poem entitled 'The Curse of Clytemnestra';
- three typescript poems entitled 'The Writer';
- typescript poem entitled 'Atootaois';
- a pink sheet of blotting paper with words imprinted in ink [writing appears in reverse];
- typescript poem entitled 'A Poem by Daphne du Maurier ---August 1981' and beginning 'They said it was not the body but the brain...';
- typescript poem entitled 'Remembrance Day' [identical to 'Armistice Day';
- typescript poem entitled 'Track May 16 1978 For Freddie in Hospital', beginning 'He said "I dare you to" and so I dared...';
- typescript poem beginning 'I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am with you...';
- typescript poem entitled 'A Prayer?';
- typescript poem entitled 'Insanity';
- typescript poem beginning 'Tonight the other world came much too nearÂ…', with a manuscript note by Maureen Baker-Munton;
- typescript draft of poem beginning 'And shells of ancient matter turned to bread...' [appears to be second half of a draft, first page presumably missing];
- two typescript poems entitled 'Easter Prelude';
- letter from Esther [Rowe, housekeeper] to Maureen Baker-Munton, dated 1982 and enclosing a typescript poem by Daphne du Maurier beginning 'To-night the other world came much too near and with it fear...';
- four manuscript poems beginning 'Tonight / Last night the other world came much too near...'
- manuscript poem beginning 'I planned it in Venice...';

This file also includes:
- typescript poem entitled 'French Peasants' by Monk Gibbon;
- typescript lyrics for the song 'Elusive Butterfly' by Val Donnegan, with manuscript note by Maureen Baker-Munton;
- a small number of papers relating to poems chosen for the film 'Yeats. A Tribute.' [released as 'The Last Romantic'], for which Daphne du Maurier wrote the script and Christian Browning directed (c 1964).
