Admin History | Nights at The Circus was a touring production co-produced with the Lyric Hammersmith and Bristol Old Vic. The production was based on the 1984 novel of the same name by Angela Carter.
The plot centres around a cynical journalist from the New York Times who sets out on a mission to unmask the great fakes of his age.
Emma Rice in the programme for the production that Carter's work is "a homageto theatre; to the dirty, stinking, emotional soup ofit, the thrill of fantasy and the intoxication of dreams. It is a love song to a land where you do not have to inhabit the skin you were born in".
