| Description | As part of the Cornwall Oracy Project as Mousehole School, 3 members of the Kneehigh Company collaborated with a local artist and the Penwith Peninsular Project with the ain to use the school as the focus for a community celebration. This would involve the reclaiming of an event, Tom Bawcock's Eve that had become a 'visitors' booze up and to encourage talking and listening as a central part of the process.
Preliminary visits were made to talk about the ideas for the event, to create enthusisasm for it, make contacts in the community and decide on prepartory tasks for the children. The project worked with 38 junior school children and 2 staff to present a lantern procession and shadow play to tell the story of Tom Bawcock. The event was supported by the Harbour Lights Committee, the Ship Inn and the Methodist Women's Guild. |
