DescriptionWoolf slide index lists this image at Doyden Christmas 1979 but also gives the date as 18.4.80.
Admin HistoryWreck believed to be that of The Castor 1 a cargo ship. In November 1980, on her way back from Londonderry to Par her engines failed near Port Isaac and whilst being towed into the harbour, she capsized and sank. The main wreck is lodged in the rocks just outside Port Isaac Harbour and has been broken up by the sea, scattering debris across the seabed of the harbour entrance.( http://www.wrecksite.eu/wreck.aspx?77628publisher:wrecksiteaccessdate:15 Accessed 12.10.2016)
